Lake Mirror by timerskine

Lake Mirror

At the right time, fog can be a photographer's friend. You see, having fog means the air is very, very still, and this means that the surfaces of ponds and lakes are glassy smooth. We awoke to the third straight day of dense fog and as the sun came up we headed to Beaver Lake at Pocahontas State Park. We were not disappointed. I got a lot of great pictures but this was my favorite reflection shot.
You have to look hard to see where the soil becomes water!

Looks very deep and black - as you say - smooth as a mirror.
