I watched this red-tailed hawk sitting on a branch in a nearby tree. None of the shots I got of it sitting there turned out due to branches in the way. When it flew off to a more distant tree those shots were also not good, mainly due to my movement of the camera.
This was the hawk as it flared its wings to kill its speed and lift to land on the large branch. I just wish it had its head raised, but you get to see its beautiful markings and the reason it's called a red tail.
