I was at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge looking for some pictures when I saw this dune between the road and Atlantic Ocean that was an inviting subject. As I parked on one side of the road, two cars pulled up and parked on the other side. The man in the first car got out, told the man with two very large dogs in the second car to wait and started to jog up the dune with his Jack Russell terrier. They really added a spark of life to the scenery.
But while the added to my picture, the dog wasn't supposed to be there. At all. The signs posted at the entrance to the park clearly state that you aren't allowed to have dogs, not even in the car.
Given that he was likely just going to let the pooch do his business on the beach and then jog back and leave, I let it go. The ranger staffing is low and the closest one was probably a mile or more away so I didn't bother them.
