Progress

Birmingham is to host the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The site with all the cranes was a university where I used to work. The university has been pulled down and the new buildings will be the athletes’ village for the games. They will then become social housing as the area (Perry Barr) is long overdue some modernising and improving.

I hadn’t travelled this route to the city centre for a few years so I was amazed by all the changes.
Exciting times ahead! Not only the games but also the potential legacy. Great urban capture.

A hive of industry with all of the cranes. Let’s hope that the regeneration has a positive outcome.

I think this is what they did with the London olympics, I’m sure that was in an area that needed rejuvenation .
