My daughter-in-law’s mother (and now my good friend) gave up her full time job a couple of years ago to try to do something with her love of baking. It was tough going at first, and at times she was tempted to return to her office job, but she stuck with it. Word soon got around and a couple of local shops put in weekly orders, and now she’s run off her feet...but very happy to be doing something she loves. This cake was our Christmas present from her, and we are now about to make a start on it 😋

I'm always happy to hear about people pursuing and making it in what they love. It did not work for me. I know it's not easy.
