The destination, the warning unheeded and the result.
On a beautiful, perfect sunny day we went out to Peggy's Cove to see the lighthouse. We'd been there less than 15 minutes when my enthusiasm exceeded my ability and I miss-stepped and fell heavily on the rocks.
Our friends cut the visit short and drove us back to the ship where I presented to the doctor.
Most of the damage is on the right side but the left was not unscathed. Both knees grazed, ribs bruised, left hand little finger broken, palm lacerated requiring three stitches. The damage to my face is self-evident.
The camera survived without damage. The Doctor's bill is over US$ 1300, thank goodness for travel insurance.
Many thanks for your visits, favs & comments, I read and appreciate them all.
Given the limitations of the on-board WiFi and satellite links I am not able to view and comment on your captures, I am missing them.

Tony, Tony, Tony, what are we to do with you??? Still a handsome devil but now in a rugged kind of handsome way :-)
A very memorable day in your journey no doubt. You will be sticking to sunset/sunrise shots for a while I think.
Oh my goodness, so sorry to hear that. What a way to portray this event, though. Great thought on capturing the sign. Was that shot before or after the fall? I've been to Halifax. I wasn't on any killer rocks, though. Take care of yourself, my friend, and get well soon!!!
Oh no, that's a nasty black eye along with all the other injuries, so sorry to hear this.
But thank goodness your camera was ok !!!!
You won't forget this journey. Wishing you a speedy recovery & take good care for rest of trip
That is such a shame, Tony (besides hurting like the dickens!) Glad it wasn't as bad as that sign suggested! It was a pretty lighthouse - guess you should have stayed with that!
Well the best thing was the camera survived. And you had the presence of mind to take a pic of yourself. Just as well you had taken the other pics beforehand - or did you stop and shoot those for the story afterwards? :-)
@terryliv I was in no fit state to photograph anything. My face is a very shaky selfie some hours later. We are back on land and with reasonable internet speed should be able to check in more frequently. Thank you for commenting while I've been unable to respond regularly.
Tony! Just seeing this now - so sorry about your fall. I just got back from my East Coast trip and was in Peggy's Cove just after you. Hope you are on the mend and enjoy the rest of your trip!
