Flinders Street Station

This iconic facade has graced the intersection of Flinders Street and Swanson Street in Melbourne for many years. The station forms the hub of Melbourne's suburban train system. Just after 09:00 on a bleak Sunday morning the steps were unusually free of crowds that normally pass through here. Fortunately the predicted rain did not eventuate but the weather remained overcast and cold with a high of just 17°C/62.6°F.

Thank you for visiting my project.

I love the angle of this photo. It is hard to get the whole façade in. Well done.

Sounds like you had a brisk tour of Melbourne - I'm always amazed at how easily you navigate new cities! See that you're about to finish your journey - hope you've both had a good one.

Handsome building and great shot. I recently went to London with Cathy - to get to our destination we walked past 3 main stations, I was amazed to think how many times I had been inside them without seeing the outside at all....
