I used to drink in this pub about 40 years ago, it is told that it the oldest pub/inn in England, The Old Trip To Jerusalem, built in 1189 at the foot of Nottingham Castle Wall, The pub is famous for its caves that was carved out of the soft sandstone rock, The lower Caverns are used as the pubs drinking rooms. If you view large you can see were the pub is built in the wall.
Thank you all very much for the lovely comments, The pub takes its name from the 12th century crusades to the holly land, they say the Knights of Richard stopped off at the watering hole for a pint on their way to JERUSALEM.
