Sounds real good, we have something here in the states called pineapple upside down cake, where the butter and brown sugar and sliced pineapples are put in the baking pan first, and the cake dough then poured over the top and baked...upon completion of baking, the pan is turned upside down , and the pineapple brown sugar and butter are now the cake topping....
@tonyjsisti ah yes, I have seen this type of pineapple upside down cake before but have never tasted them. These taiwanese ones are mor like cookies or tarts. It has a soft crust and sort of pineapple jam inside. There are many made in other countries, including Malaysia but they can never taste as good as those from Taiwan.
Nice shot! Yeah, when my friends visit Taiwan, they buy so much of this pineapple cake back. I don't know. I've tasted it but I'm not a fan. I prefer the pineapple tarts we eat for the Lunar New Year. 8)
