Rock Ledges and Cove

The ledges formed of hard ancient lava flows with air pockets and quartz veins extend out into Lake
Superior. It is hard and , at the same time, can break off and crumble to the touch. The cove is being made larger as the waves eat away at the
sedimentary rock back from the ledges.
