Open Water

There was a little open water on Medicine Lake
this Friday. So in this little space the ducks and geese flocked together. You can see two landing and above the tree three more heading in.

There was a (european?) painter who realised scenes like this. Haven't found who I think I'm looking for, but this wonderful shot of what is clearly a favoured duck port struck a chord. The tones and contrasts are the epitome of Winter. This shot gives me great pleasure. Thank you .
