I am just in love with this photo. I love it because it is something old, I love the textures and I love the picket fence. It is a barn I have seen 1000 times before and never once saw it with the photographers eye like I did for the first time yesterday. It sits in the backyard next to the local funeral home. The only thing I am not sure about is that I wish I had put the focus point on the top of the fence instead of on the barn, so that the fence isn't as blurry. I shot it at f5.6 with my 40mm. May have to go back. What do you think?
Off to Indiana this morning for first round of hockey playoffs for my oldest son. Have downloaded a couple more shots I took yesterday to my iPad and will be posting from the road. Enjoy what is going to be a beautiful weekend 365 friends.
I personally think the focus point is perfect! Better to have the fence a little out of focus (although I don't see it) than the rest of the photo! I LOVE selective coloring on some photos and this is the perfect one for it!! Awesome composition, lighting and details!! I love old things too and worn things!! Huge FAV and have a good time while you're gone!!
It's a cute little red barn. I can see why I caught your eye. Since it's the focal point of the picture I think the fence being softly blurred works just fine.
