No-one saw it coming!!

photo 468
We've had a rough couple of days, and there's worse to come!! On Sunday i visited my brother and stopped at this lake on the way home, the weather was cold and windy. After leaving here and getting about 20 minutes down the road to home, the wind and rain became so strong tree branches and debris were flying all over the roads. The closer we got to home the worse it got, traffic was pratically crawling and whole trees were falling across the road (one missed our car by a matter of metres!). When we finally made it home in one piece the power was out, about 2pm. We didn't have our power back until the early hours of this morning!
We have since learned the winds were the equivalent to those of a catergory 2 cyclone, taking down peoples fences, smashing windows and ripping off roof tiles. We are now sitting tight waiting for another one to hit again tonight, as i am typing this the news is saying to expect extemely strong winds, hail, heavy rain and to expect as much damage as sunday. So we will more than likely to be without power again in the morning.......scary stuff!! So to all West Australians along the coast...stay off the roads and stay safe!

A chilling thought tbat this is becoming global ... synchronised weather systems on opposite sides of the globe, although in different hemispheres and different seasons

@flagged sorry to hear you had so much damage, hope you don't get any more!! We are a couple of houses from the beach, so normal wind usually worries us....really hate these big ones! Keep safe!

Like the shot - it goes well with the text. It's a wild coastline there, but do stay safe.

The winds are howling outside my window right now and it sounds really scary. My power went out twice already. Stay safe Trude and I hope we won't wake up to more destructions. Nice capture.
