We've had a rough couple of days, and there's worse to come!! On Sunday i visited my brother and stopped at this lake on the way home, the weather was cold and windy. After leaving here and getting about 20 minutes down the road to home, the wind and rain became so strong tree branches and debris were flying all over the roads. The closer we got to home the worse it got, traffic was pratically crawling and whole trees were falling across the road (one missed our car by a matter of metres!). When we finally made it home in one piece the power was out, about 2pm. We didn't have our power back until the early hours of this morning!
We have since learned the winds were the equivalent to those of a catergory 2 cyclone, taking down peoples fences, smashing windows and ripping off roof tiles. We are now sitting tight waiting for another one to hit again tonight, as i am typing this the news is saying to expect extemely strong winds, hail, heavy rain and to expect as much damage as sunday. So we will more than likely to be without power again in the morning.......scary stuff!! So to all West Australians along the coast...stay off the roads and stay safe!
A chilling thought tbat this is becoming global ... synchronised weather systems on opposite sides of the globe, although in different hemispheres and different seasons
I'll post this while I still have power Trude :P Great shot its not been the best week to get out and get some images. I lost back fences and some of the side in Sundays wind so hope tonight isn't as bad as the predict. Stay Safe
As frightening as nauture is in all her fury, I always find it fascinating to watch. Stay safe Trude. I hope you don't wake up in Oz tmorrow. They don't have internet there and I'd miss seeing your photos.
@cromwell lol, don't you know i already live in Oz.....Ozstralia!! and we haven't had the internet for 2 days....probably be gone again in a couple of hours! It's really starting to get loud out there now.....aaarrgghh!!
@flagged sorry to hear you had so much damage, hope you don't get any more!! We are a couple of houses from the beach, so normal wind usually worries us....really hate these big ones! Keep safe!
The winds are howling outside my window right now and it sounds really scary. My power went out twice already. Stay safe Trude and I hope we won't wake up to more destructions. Nice capture.
Sounds like what we had hit us here not long back.. I know exactly what you are going through and its not nice in any form. PLease stay safe and dont drive unless you have to x
Wow ...some pretty severe weather..glad you didn't get any major damage...l have missed all this , l haven't been watching the news - l have two brothers and their families over that way ...l had better check with them...nice shot btw:)!!
Oh my goodness! I hope you're ok. I'm a little late in catching up, sorry. I think wind's the worst weather of all. It really scares me the damage that can be done. Stay safe xx
