Officially today marks the last day of my teaching career after 45 years. One family gave me this beautiful glass apple as a farewell gift. As the sun approaches the end of its journey north its early morning beams light up my office and the apple takes on the warm golden glow of the shelf on which it sits. Memories flood my mind.
First of all, much like someone in the military, I thank you for all your years of service. I admire teachers and have only the fondest memories of all of mine. You did a job that I could never do, I don't have the patience or the intelligence. You had the opportunity to be a part of a whole lot of young lives and to help shape them into the people they are now.
Congratulations on 45 years, that's quite an accomplishment!
And your photo and the bright sunlight is just plain lovely.
I second @cholbert's remarks! Such an honorable and sometimes under appreciated profession! Congrats on 45 years! Such a nice gift and a very pretty shot.
Congratulations on your teaching all those years and on your new adventure. What a wonderful gift and shot. I have tremendous admiration for teachers. Thank you for a great job.
@cholbert Thank you. It is amazing how many lives to enrol fro Prep in 2012. The Principal of the school introduced himself as a past pupil of mine. Hope it helps little one's application. His mother will be devastated if he doesn't.
@corymbia Good to here your up-and-at-'em again. Good luck with your application and thank you for your special comments. Those apples are beautiful, aren't they?
@maggie2 Thanks Margaret. Teaching is not the job it was when Istarted but I never tired of helping and encouraging children to discover their inner strengths and to become the best person they could possibly be.
Beautiful shot!! Teachers are gems in this world. We could use more of them, especially the ones who are as committed as you. Congratulations on your 45 years of service. :0)
