Gladstone Harbour by ubobohobo

Gladstone Harbour

Gladstone Harbour is not like it used to be but I never tire of sitting waterside and watching the world go by. Once you would see an odd fishing boat putter out of Auckland Creek but now there is a constant stream of boats of every shape and size dashing across the harbour as a result of Australia's mining boom and Gladstone's subsequent development.
Great shot Margaret. I can understand why you enjoy watcing. I'm facinated by what goes on around the harbors too. The detail and composition is excellent.

Lovely. Brings back pleasant memories - we stayed in Gladstone marina for several weeks and loved it there.

Fascinating mix of contrasts... looks like a little Christmas tree afloat in the harbour but I'm guessing it's a buoy!

@filsie65 Yes ...a little bouy. This is the very busy entrance to Auckland Creek and the Marina.

Love the splash of red from the ship.

Beautiful shot. The red of the ship gives added colour to the picture. that must be a grain silo in the background.

You have captured the busy harbour perfectly. Gladstone has certainly changed over the years from a fishing harbour to an industrial port!
