Apostlebird on Fig

...against a backdrop of misty rain from Cyclone Ita which is now moving away from the Queensland coast having brought some lovely rain to our area.. Apostle birds are very social and travel in family groups of 12 or so birds - hence the name. They are endemic to Australia and thrive on our farm where they take every opportunity they can to steal food from the chooks.
Such a good, clear capture, and I loved learning about this bird through your narrative. Thank you, Margaret, and I'm so happy for your rain too!
