Probably my favourite Australian Bird. They are so neat and tidy with their black crest that could be used to advertise the latest hair gel products. This opportunist is in to scavenge any stray grains the chooks may have missed to take back to the babies which are flapping around through teir home tree today. Won't be long now before they are on the wing. (See July 26 for my nestling capture.)
Oh, Margaret, you have obviously got into the right place to photograph this unusual pigeon!. I have to admit that this particular one looks as if he has been on the gin!
Lovely bird well captured. We see them at Mallacoota and love their soft colours and markings. It was comical to see a pair rolling around on our lawn having a bath in the rain.
This is such a pretty bird! Ours here are also pretty but exist in such high numbers that we consider them a nuisance. I'm glad you can truly enjoy this beautiful one!
