Feasting

The male of the king parrot family feasting on my peaches. He needs a bib and a washer to wipe his chin!

Wow!!! I didn't know they ate fruit. I thought they were a seed eater. Great capture. !/2 a fav for the shot and 1/2 fav for the information on its dietary habits.

You're too far north to grow peaches aren't you Margaret?

@terryliv Yes we grow plenty for our own use. Peach trees are a left over from the soldier settlement days when all sorts of fruit trees were trialled Persimmons, figs, grapes, pecan nuts also survive from this time. Citrus trees also thrived when I was a kid but have all gone now. And as for those pesky parrots - they are lucky they are so pretty

@ubobohobo Ha Ha Ha You can't begrudge such beautiful birds a peach or 2 . . or 3 . . . or 4 . . . . . . . I thought it would have been too hot for them but obviously not

They don't look very ripe - he must be a bit of a nuisance but is very bright and interesting to see!
