Nature's farewell to 2014. My photograph shows the three storm cells captured on the weather bureau's radar image yesterday afternoon. We are under number 1 with 2 and 3 highlighted by the setting sun.
Today's image was to be of "an old girl's last hoorah" as the local paper headlined it. But it was not to be.
Queensland's iconic train, the Sunlander which has made the 3400km round trip from Brisbane to Cairns and back for the past 61 years completed it's last run down the coast today to be replaced by the modern Spirit of Queensland which will travel at 160kmh and replace the leisurely scenic trip with speed, movies, music and USB ports. I was going to be up at 4:00pm and over to Miriam Vale by 5.00am to see it for the last time but slept in and didn't have enough time available to be sure I would catch it so stayed home. Good start to the New Year. My first resolution bites the dust. Happy New Year to All.
