Our luck was in on Saturday night. For just $10 entry fee we were able to enjoy the voice of talented mezzo soprano, Claire Munting from The Netherlands. How lucky is Gladstone? Claire trained at the Royal Conservatoire, The Hague and has been living here, performing and teaching, since she came to town with her husband for the gas plant construction project.
I was one of the organisers of a charity fund raiser for a family down on their luck at the moment and Claire volunteered her performance to our cause. The audience was stunned into silence by her magical voice as she just stood before us and sang. Amazing.
