A Bowl's Club tradition is to make the President feel very special on President's Day. One of my treats was the gift of an advanced potted grevillea already bearing two beautiful flower heads. It is still at the foot of the stairs where I stood it when I came home on Tuesday. Today while we had a cup of tea on the verandah this little bird feasted on the new blooms. Can't wait till it matures because the flowers are gorgeous and are obviously going to attract the birds.
The grevillea has a different flower and leaves from most plants and its great to know its healthy and beautiful in a pot! What is the bird there - looks like our 'ring eye"!
@maggiemae They are honey eaters - a brown honey eater. Not a very exciting name for this cheeky little group. They are trilling away outside right now and love the many grevillea we have planted around the house yard. I'm always talking about my birds and my chooks and sharing my grevillea blooms. So it was not surprising that the members gave me the potted tree with a welcome sign that has a bird sitting on it and covered the soil in the pot with a rooster and several hens. Are they trying to tell me something? May be I need to change the topic of my conversations.
