Ever since Cyclone Debbie refilled Awoonga dam these coot have teased me each time we drive to Gladstone. They stand in a line on a log under the surface of the water looking as if they are standing on water. I keep telling myself this could be my photo for the day. Yesterday as my husband whizzed over the causeway in the morning I captured the setting. On the return journey in the afternoon he paused long enough for me to zoom in on the coots. There were only five on the log but at least in collage I can see on close examination the line of birds about a third of the way across the picture. Can you spot them?
