Yellow Eye-ring

This is the distinguishing feature of the fan-tailed cuckoo. Today's word is egg so I feel justified to upload my favourite subject matter, the birds that visit my backyard. These cuckoos are migratory and this is one of two who arrived in the backyard two days ago. Like most cuckoos it is a parasite and now they have arrived the honeyeaters will have to be on guard. Their nests are favoured by fantails and some will almost certainly end up with a foreign egg in their nest.
Such a beauty, lovely marking on the tail feathers.

I read your description and then studied the eyes, and they say, "Who me?"

Really pretty bird - too bad they are too lazy to raise their own!
So glad to see you participating in the November words.
