Carpenter Bee by ubobohobo

Carpenter Bee

This may be a small insignificant shot of a bee but it took a long time to capture with my very basic equipment and the bees themselves have generated a lot of discussion and research. They are usually solitary. However for the few days the guava tree was in bloom, they filled the tree and everyone who visited had a comment to make on how they had never seen such numbers in one spot. They are like bumble bees but are distinguished by their black shiny abdomen.
Great catch, and thank you for the information too--very interesting!

@ludwigsdiana The bees certainly did their bit to pollenate the flowers.
