Wanderers by ubobohobo

Wanderers

I made this collage to record the difference between the big Australian Wanderer butterfly and the more petite lesser wanderer (upper right). Both made a brilliant display flitting through the milkweed. The wanderers (Monarchs in the northern Hemisphere) were quite bossy and kept flipping the lessers and taking over their flowers, their orange brilliance lighting up the milkweed patch. A wonder filled scene.
Enchanting!

Of course the monarch is not Australian, it is the northern butterfly and the milkweed is not Australian but is their native host plant :) They are one of the few non-natives I love and encourage.
