Ants

"Little by little by little by little by little" Dusty Springfield used to sing and this is how these little ants do it. This massive cone made of tiny slivers of grass, soil and other matter piled on top of an old stump by ants that are only 3mm long at the most- an amazing find during my forest walk looking for the lost cattle a few weeks back.

They truly are amazing creatures! We can learn a lot about their collective living ... not that I would like to be a worker with no individuality!
