It is always easy to tell when I am pushed for time and finding something of interest to photograph is difficult. At times like this some people post pictures of flowers, but I am known as a plant killer not a plant nurturer. Alas (much to my disappointment), I don't have any cute pets to photograph nor any ugly ones either. My children are both teenagers, and seem to be out more than they are home, and my husband is camera shy! Although I live in Chicago (a city with much to offer), my house is in a quiet residential neighborhood on the edge of the city, so not much of interest around me. So that is when I turn to random things from my house, and today I give you hot red pepper flakes!
I keep looking at this and realized I have cropped it to tight, but the original composition was tight against one side of the jar, and I tried to even it out in processing. Lesson learned, take more time before taking the shot!
Every time I see the thumbnail of this photo, it reminds me of the lose tea I have. I like the close crop on this one. It adds to the tension you've created by having it offset from center in a visually pleasing way, imo.
