Snow and Leaf by ukandie1

Snow and Leaf

Not much inspiration today, with either the shot or the title! Drove my daughter back to Uni last night, (not too far away), and took my son to the airport this morning to head back to school, so the house is too quiet!
Nice detail!

I am sharing your feelings... One of mine yesterday was a leaf too! :). As always, though, you did a nice job with it.

lovely shot

Adore the stalky looking stuff on far left....the texture and processing. Plus some of tan twiggy stuff in middle. All around good. Just thought I'd let you know what esp appealed t0 me.

ah - the remnants of summer and fall... sorry your house feels too quiet to you... it sounds like it would be heaven to me!

Great shot!!!

I love this. The bit of sun breaking through the twigs really adds to the shot.

Very nice - lots of texture and detail. Kind of sums up that anti-climactic feeling after the frenzy and bonhomie of the holidays. But it's a very nice image.

It's sad to see them go again. This is a nice splash of colour in the snow.

Lovely texture and tones.

Great focus and nice colors. I understand the emptiness of the house without your children. You'll feel better soon :)

Perfect picture for the mood. We leave tomorrow, and my youngest brother who is the only one left in the house leaves for four months this Saturday. My mom is saying the same thing!

I'm so glad you had happy holidays with your kids home. I'm sorry you're feeling glum with their leaving. Today's weather, around here, certainly didn't help lift your spirits any. Stay safe and warm. I'm opting for a hot toddy! (Purely medicinal, of course!)

Really nice seasonal shot

Reflects the mood very well. Hope you can enjoy the quiet!

Poor you, that's a horrible feeling. This is a lovely shot. In some ways the leaves sum up your feelings.

Great close up snow shot!

Pam
I always hate to see them go, although the quiet is good sometimes. Lovely shot.

Very nicely captured.

Beautiful framing. I like the beauty of this with these few subjects

This is a lovely natural shot and a fav for me! Plus I know how you feel ... I had to wave goodbye to my boys this afternoon and will not be seeing them until Feb earliest for the youngest and Easter for the others!

beautiful.... surely a feel good type of picture
January 6th, 2015
beautiful

brilliant detail and textures Andie! I suppose this photo captures your feelings today

Peace and quiet for a few weeks then? Inspired or not I like it very much, it's a very realistic winter cameo.

So sad when the kids are no longer around the house. I love the pov here Andie.

Wonderful and sad photo at the same time, this one kind of tells a story to me. Great job

Simple and beautiful.

@helly31 I am lucky that my daughter is now at Uni only 40 minutes from us, so we will see her in Jan for her birthday, but my son goes to school on the east coast so he is gone until the end of Feb. Miss them when they are gone, but it does make cooking, cleaning, and laundry much easier :)
January 7th, 2015
@ukandie1 Certainly does make the cleaning etc easier ... but roll on Feb! My son spent a year at boarding school in Connecticut. He LOVED it! He's planning a trip to go and visit his friends 'across the pond'.

@helly31 my son is in boarding school in Connecticut now (my daughter went there too) small world!

@ukandie1 Amazing ... Joe went to Avon Old Farms on a years exchange from the UK ... it had such an impact on him and we've had some of his friends visit us from the school which has been wonderful.

Totally sympathise with empty house syndrome...your image is beautiful love the colour of the leaf
January 7th, 2015
Ah yes!! Sometimes the quiet can be deafening!! This is a lovely capture though. Love that gold color against the snow.

@helly31 Glad to hear your son enjoyed his time at Avon, my son is at Choate (daughter went there too) it has been a great experience for them too.
