With the holidays well and truly over I have decided to do a spot of early spring cleaning this week, not that I have gotten much done as I keep finding things I had forgotten about, this watch being one of those things. It was given to me by my great aunt after my great grandmother passed away (it belonged to my great grandmother), I was about 8 at the time.
The strap is threadbare, the watch face is scratched, the back of the case is a little dented, but when you open it up it is all shiny and pristine. The craftsmanship in it is fascinating.
I have spent ages this afternoon trying to find a little more about it. I now know a lot more about watches than I did at the start of the day, but am not a lot wiser about this watch as I have some conflicting information when it comes to the date of the hall mark and the case makers mark. I shall keep on researching and see what I can find.
I love this, reminds me of my beautiful Pop, he has a houseful of old clocks, watches, pocket watches and many other amazing things, thanks for sharing!
