I went to the Field Museum today, I had a ticket to the soft opening of the Viking's Exhibit, which I enjoyed, and even though I took a ton of shots whilst at the museum this was the shot I liked the best. It was taken a little bit west of the Museum campus. If you want to know more about this art instillation I have captured it before, here is a description of what it is http://365project.org/ukandie1/extras/2014-10-29
As you may be able to tell it was snowing at the time. Maybe I should have turned on my flash to have captured that better? Dare I say best viewed on black :)
I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone for all the wonderful comments and favs you gave my shots yesterday especially the ones for my "More Bean", I did it for the HighKey/Lowkey challenge, and was worried that I might have pushed it too far, so I was amazed and very thankful for all of the positive comments.
I thought the tunnel shot was the tunnel near the Field Museum! Glad to know I was right! The snow, this afternoon, was crazy. I love the way you've captured it!
@voiceprintz Well spotted! I am not sure why, but the snow this afternoon caused way more issues than it should have, i don't think they have cleared any of the side streets even now, and it took for ever for to get home via bus from the green line in Oak Park.
I have seen these sculptures photographed before, but not with the slashing diagonal lines of the snow. For some reason, I like them as you have shot them... connected to the cityscape and out in the weather.
I think this is wonderful! Fav. I went with my son's class to a Viking exhibit at the royal BC Museum in Victoria. I bet it was the same one. It was very good.
WOW..this is amazing! What a great capture and the perspective is enhanced with a real person in the shot. And you have certainly captured the mood of the storm.
This is a very atmospheric capture with the falling snow and the lady looking at her mobile. The sculpture is very intriguing and I liked the info at the site you indicated.
@gozoinklings Thank you Catherine, and thanks for starting the theme. Having never hosted anything here I am going to keep it pretty much as you did it, unless you can think of anything that you think might be good to change, as many people are scared of doing street I like keeping it a broad criteria.
@davidrobinson Thank you so much David for your kind words, living in a great city like Chicago has given me so many different photographic opportunities and has really allowed me to improve and find my niche, I also have to give thanks to the wonderful community here on 365. Not sure I am talented, but I am enthusiastic and love photography and love the journey of learning more.
