I cannot resist a reflection shot, so on a crazy weather day in Chicago I had to take advantage of a few dry hours. When I left home it was raining, and when I returned home it was raining even harder, the tornado warning sirens where blasting, the wind was a little brisk and our street was flooded (thankfully no tornadoes, just a precaution in the end). At least I managed to get home, my kids were left stranded trying to get home on public transport for nearly two hours, my husband ended up having to pick them up and thus he missed the last period of the Blackhawk's game. If you are not from the US, then in a nut shell the Blackhawks are Chicago's Ice Hockey team and last night they won the biggest prize there is to win in ice hockey...the Stanley Cup!
Excellent reflections and fantastic shot... so glad you were not blown away. Bummer about missing the end of the game, though, especially such a huge one. Congrats, Chicagoland!
Instant fav for a fantastic amazing shot -- you almost make me wish I'd been out in it! Great day for Chicago yesterday despite the flash flood and tornado warnings!
Thanks @taffy and If this rainy weather keeps up you will have plenty of opportunity to get out and about in it, but talking of rain i hope it will be dry tomorrow. I will be downtown along the parade route somewhere most likely on Monroe Street Bridge, I did not try and get tickets to get in to Soldier Field.
@ukandie1 Do you know they've changed the route? Now they are starting at Racine and Washington, east down Washington and then I'm not sure where they head south. They wanted to make the route longer. Double check before you head to Monroe. I'm planning to photograph from our balcony (we're at Halstead & Washington) and then try to get some street shots -- should be exciting. I didn't try for Soldier Field either -- pretty impossible. Have a great time! It will be fun to see your shots.
@taffy I just double checked and it is still on Monroe, From Washington it goes south on Des Plaines for a couple of blocks to get to Monroe. I look forward to seeing your shots from above.
Awesome shot, Andie! Sorry I haven't been commenting. I've been either traveling or hosting visitors for the past month. Trying to get caught up! I LOVE this shot. Fav!
