This is the Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier in Chicago. after Sunday they are tearing down this Ferris Wheel and replacing it with a bigger one with climate controlled pods so it can run year round. I have seen the artist"s rendering of the new wheel, and whilst it looks wonderful it looses the red gondolas. I have not been here in years, because it really is a tourist trap, but I had to get some shots of it before it is gone for ever.
@lyndemc Thanks Denise, I am sad to say that after Sunday the classic red gondolas will be gone. It is being replaced with a bigger wheel next year that will have blue climate controlled pods that will run year round. I am sure it will be fantastic but very different! Change is always hard!
