When we went to the shelter we thought we would bring home an adolescent dog (CACC does not hold puppies in the adoption room, they go to their rescue partners), but instead we all fell in love with this 3 year old guy. Once we got Finn home we noticed all the grey hair around his mouth and wondered if he was older than they said, but our vet agreed with the shelter vet on his age, he is a healthy energetic three year old, and we are loving every moment of getting to know him!
An update on his manners, it has been a good week! He has met a couple of big dogs and whilst he has barked at them, their owners have been very gracious in letting Finn say hello to their dogs, and like I thought his barking is a defense not aggression. Once in contact with another dog who is calm then he relaxes. Once we have met a few more dogs, then I think it is time for the dog park!
He really is gorgeous! Love the colour and detail if his fur! He sounds just like Finlay who barks at large dogs like Alsatian and huskies because he is frightened- its not aggressive and once he is up close he is normally ok and relaxes. I say this but we do have a couple who walk their 3 huskies and they are not friendly at all. I think they would have Finlay for breakfast! We take avoiding action if we spot them as it's not worth the trauma! Mind you the people are not friendly either! Fav for your gorgeous boy!
I really can't wait to meet him! We have two pups here with us this week and I'm loving it (one of them just shook off lake water all over me -- she came all the way from the lake to the deck outside the house just to do that. Sigh...dogs are so funny!
