I have never taken as long to "create" a shot as I did for the end to my year one on 365. I think it took over two hours to set up the hundreds of skeins and balls of yarn to create my mosaic. Then I had to adjust the "square" into quite an extreme trapezoid to make it look like a square from the angle I was shooting. Not to mention taking the labels off of many, many balls of years to reduce seeing paper amongst the yarn (and subsequently return the labels to the correct "owners"). But all told, it spoke to the labors of keeping up with 365 over a year. I haven't been the best at commenting on all of your photography, but I have been inspired. I have pushed myself with many themes and went a long spell with "get pushed" (which truly was one of the best experiences). I've been a finalist in many themes, but never a winner. I've had a couple of photos on the PP, but never TT. But at the end, when I look at my albums, I'm quite proud of what I see. I think I've learned so much, and am humbled by how much more there is to learn. I continue to love playing with photography and pushing into what technology can do to aid our appreciation of the visual world. We live in such an exciting era of photography. I hope to continue to grow and contribute in some small way to this wonderful community. I appreciate all of your comments and the occasional fav. They really do keep me going. Here's to year two!
Congratulations Michael!! It's quite a milestone to reach that first 365 and you've done it with some fantastic pictures too! What a clever way to mark the 365th photo. I don't think I'd have the focus to return all the tags! And best wishes of year #2!!
FAV for the idea, the set-up, and the luscious textures in this finale photo! What an accomplishment to finish the year. I still recall the day you started, and I've appreciated your companionship along my own journey with 365. You've had amazingly creative images that have shown your artistic mind. I'm looking forward to catching up on many I've missed recently, but to the year ahead, too! (Good thing you inherited so much yarn! I'm especially loving those greens in the upper right . . . )
