isthmus at night by vankrey

isthmus at night

Hakodate is an awesome city. It's an isthmus (or a narrow land mass with water on both sides) with a smallish mountain allowing these awesome views. The right side is the Pacific Ocean to the east and on the left is the Japan Sea to the west. Getting this photo was no small feat! There were hundreds and hundreds of people, jostling, tripods, flashes, selfies, wind, and mostly lots and lots of people. I managed one stacked photo that you see here. What a beautiful city at night!

See it during the day:

"lots and lots of people!" Got it! haha I love this. All that life down there in those lights. I like how you can see a building at lower left...

This is almost surreal. The lights are amazing and imagining the scene of all the people just fits Japan. It almost looks like it was taken from a plane.

I thought this had been taken from a plane, just couldn't make out where the airport was. The reflection in the water and the look of this on black stunning, an instant fav for me

Truly amazing! So cool you were able to get this great shot despite all the people being around.
