So unusual. Love the colours too. Are these a type of fungi? There's one in the UK which is similar and called Turkey Tails.

Thank you all for your comments and favs! I didn't expect it to turn out as it did - I was actually on local college campus around the visual arts department to find an interesting sculpture for the day, but there was a huge chunk of a tree trunk (I believe for future carving projects) that had these all over. Ann - yes, those are fungi, and I've seen them around many times, but not as green as these ones. And out of various perspectives, I liked this one most as - as you, KWind notice - just filled the frame with all the nice lines, shapes and colors. So, thanks to nature on that one! :)

@bri999 Thank you Bri! It was a very accidental find in a spot where you wouldn't expect it - a piece of wood stored on campus for art students to carve stuff out of it. So, I was lucky to find it that day.
