Our kindergarten's gate opens to a busy street, so before, there is a thick red line that kids are not supposed to cross without parents. My first attempt of selective color in post-production.

Thank you all so much for leaving so many wonderful comments on my "Red Line" photo! It started as a fun snapshot, made with my 7-year-old's point and shoot camera, but then there was something about it that I really liked. And - Bob, and Rosie - you are very right - I really liked the little red touches on the kids' shoes as well. I was happy they cooperated and waited for the picture, and it was a great fun to edit it. I've noticed I missed a little splits of "pink" at some spots in the picture where they should not be, but it was eye-opening to figure out how to process something like this. Than you so much for your comments, compliments on the shoes and favs!!!!!!!!
That's a lovely shot Vera - and perfect for sc:) Did you do it with the software you mentioned on here a while ago? - I can't even remember its name even though I checked it out and liked the look of it :(
@pistache I did it with Affinity Photo Beta. You can do a selection and tell the program to select all the "reds", for example, then invert the selection to switch to the rest, and edit it as a layer into black and white. It was fun - I am sure I didn't do it "properly", as I was following my intuition on this and rather explored it, but that was the result, and I was pleased. I am glad you liked it.
