Eye-to-eye

I was aware of the fact that the painter looked up from his work as I was taking the picture, but looking at it at home, it gave me a chilly feeling being in a boxing match between two image-makers. Especially with the croud standing around. I wanted to keep that feeling of being focused and "in his own world" with the subject he is painting. So I tried selective color on him - I hope it doesn't look too much like he has been superimposed into this background.
I like the selective colour as it reinforces that very strong eye contact. The effect is so strong that you have to make the effort to explore the mono background detail.

Шикарный момент, Вера!
Касательно selective colour, я бы просто чуть-чуть притушил на нем яркость (bleaching), тогда он не будет смотреться вклеенным.

What an amazing capture of the "moment" Vera. I'd say "if looks could kill" you would have been mortally injured by him. I think the selective colour really brings out the story of this shot. WONDERFUL! FAV. :)
