Better on black. I thought I'd get a shot at a landscape from the Hohenasperg castle (which is also a current prison). The landscape was boring, so I got distracted by this old wood on a door. Yes. I did get approached by security who wanted to know if I am photographing any locks or window security systems. But photographing the old wood was OK with them (they checked my pictures!), just got me a couple of strange looks :)
Thank you for visiting!
By the way, the landscape would have been for the 52-week challenge for 2016. More information under
he he you sound like me!!! I've been photographing food rather than venturing out to find a landscape! Love this. So my kind of shot, full to textures.
Some folk have just no idea about art. I was photographing plants in a shopping mall and was stopped by a security guard asking what I was doing..haha! Fabulous shot of the old door. Great processing too. Fav!
@jinximages@californialover@danette - I was actually surprised myself that the security guys were pretty relaxed about me hanging out with a camera out there. But on the other hand - the whole area around the perimeter of the castle is something like a local public park with a restaurant, with wonderful views of the area (since the castle is located on a lonely hill). So, I am guessing, they are used to seeing people with camera's there, but they looked surprised at the one actually pointing the lens towards the inner wall, and not towards the vista.
Oh I am so glad the old shredded-looking piece of wood got all that attention it truly deserves. :) Thank you all so much for your visits, generous comments and opinions. They are very much appreciated!
