The whitetail fawn that we rescued this past weekend. He slid down a mud bank and couldn't get back up. As we idled the boat up to him, he jumped in the water and started coming to the boat. The water dropped off right there so, he soon was about to go under. My daughter jumped in the water and saved him. It took four of us to make a "chain" to pass him up and get him up to the top of the bank. He eventually wandered off and laid back down. We're pretty sure, the doe was close by because he hadn't on the bank too long.
@grannysue We believe he is. We placed him on the top of the bank in the area he slid down from. He eventually bawled a bit and then walked to a different area and laid down. We went back to the area early the next morning and didn't hear or find him. He hadn't been at the water's edge for long and we believe the doe was still in the area since he kept bleating for her.
