I am a Red Cross Volunteer. I do Client Casework and train new volunteers. We help people locally who have a disaster such as a house fire, statewide with flooding mostly here in Oregon and then we are called out when there are large national disasters that the local chapters need help with, such as tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, floods and earthquakes. My last national disaster was in Tuscaloosa, Alabama Tornado.
Good for you Vicki. Volunteering is so important--how wonderful that you train those who want to volunteer. Documenting these experiences is critical. Way to go.
@yonnie@twinsplusone@bkbinthecity@kerristephens@cindyrez@wannabe thanks for the comments, but I didn't put this up for praise...just passing on my shot of the day...and that is what I did. And YES, I am so glad that none of you have needed the Red Cross...I have seen some really sad stuff and pray that you all stay safe! I have also seen some pretty good amazing things come from these bad situations as well and that is what keeps me going back.
