Smokey Sunrise by vickisfotos

Smokey Sunrise

Remember the sunrise I posted a few days ago? Well, this is how the sun looked this morning due to fires in the gorge. It is a beautiful sight, but when you know the reason, not so much. I wish it showed up as red on 365 as it is on my computer. It was an eerie feel to see it out there like this in the morning.
There have been so many fires this year--seems like more than any other year. That smoke must be so thick.

@yonnie it is thick, but only a hazy sky for us right here...not even a smell of fire...if I did not know that there were fires in the gorge, I would have really wondered why the sun was so red

not even your mountain is visible. I didn't realize it was that smoky.

Nicely composed, strange how beauty and terrible things go hand in hand sometimes.

It is a gorgeous photo. However, after I read your explanation I can certainly see why for you not so much. Stay safe.

That is quite a difference. I too wish I could get the colors just right on here. I don't think I'll ever figure it out though.
