wonderful, Vicki! I was out poking around in the yard, trying to get shots of the unusual flowers on the Japanese aralia, when I realized a hummingbird was flitting around just above my head! I tried but couldn't get any shots, the canopy of leaves was in my way. And I am not that fast!

@nana2r I have tried to shoot one all summer with no luck..this one was taken from my kitchen window...and I only took one shot...as you said...LUCKY!

@lyno I just found out that this kind will stay all winter if you keep their feeders full. I have a few that are fighting for control of them, so am going to get more feeders and put them around the place. hopefully none of them starve and freeze

@cindyrez they are called ANNA'S hummingbirds and they stay around in the NW if they are fed
