One of the things we planned on doing while in the Cinque Terre was hike between the little towns. There is a simple little hike that takes you to each of them. Trouble is, we discovered it was closed because of a landslide. So we took the high road. Wow, it was a tough hike! and I consider myself to be a pretty fair hiker. This took us up high into the mountains and then right back down over and over. It was tough, but I am so glad we did it! we were able to see so much more than the simple hike. Part of the way we went right through along those paths that you see in the photo...the vineyards had grapes about to be harvested, then there were olive groves and the view of the ocean and the sight of those tiny little cliff hanging towns. It was a day to remember.
Wow, that must have been quite a hike. I went to Cinque Terre but from the sea side on the tourist ferries. We stopped at Riomaggiore, Monterosso and Portovenere. A great sight from the sea side.
