The first tree up is the first one out the door. Our local trash collection will take it away, but we had to cut off the top because they will only take them 8ft. and under.
I always find this scene, repeated in all different neighborhoods, to be sort of sad...end of festivities and return to every day activity. But it also means the New Year is starting and that's always a hopeful time.
Great capture and interesting that your trash will take them. Ours won't un less you cut them into pieces small enough to fit them in the bin. Otherwise our local garden centre will recycle them.
We will not take down the decorations before Epiphany and sometimes we leave them there even after that. Christine loves to see the festive lights in the house.
Its kind of sad that the Christmas and holidays are almost over but New Year is starting hoping to do much better in everything :) Happy New Year Vicki!
Vicki...Wishing you the most special New Year! It has been pure joy getting to know you on 365 and meeting you in person! So looking forward to another year and hope we can meet up again in the spring. Your photos are always inspiring and love seeing what you are up to. Be safe, happy and healthy! Cheers!
I love your photo. What a pretty tree you had. I hear that they recycle the trees or use them for something so not a waste of a cut tree. Happy New Year Vicki.
This reminds me of my grandfather's Christmas tree. He always got a short needle pine and sprayed it with some concoction he made to make it white and he had all blue lights and ornaments. The older blue lights not the mini-lights. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas!
