Winter Blues

Winter seems to have chased most our lovely insects away - all I could find today were hoverflies!

Fantastic detail as always Dominique. You are certainly the master of macro with insects.

Now I shot one of these the other day (I haven't posted it yet) and I thought it was a bee !! Damn !! Now I will have to put "bee" back on my bucket list !!

Great shot, so sharp! Hoverflies are so important in gardens helping to control pests such as aphids. Often confused with wasps so they suffer for that! Nice to see on centre stage!
