Hidden Depths... by vignouse

Hidden Depths...

We each have many facets to our personality... some plain to see, others hidden from view. I like the idea that the multiple shadows here are the tangible evidence of those personality traits that are normally hidden.

I've also had the Mike Oldfield song "Shadow on the Wall" running through my head today:

Treat me like a prisoner
Treat me like a fool
Treat me like a loser
Use me as a tool

Face me 'til I'm hungry
Push me in the cold
Treat me like a criminal
Just a shadow on the wall

Shadow on the wall
Shadow on the wall
Shadow on the wall
Shadow on the wall
Like a shadow on the wall

Treat me like I'm evil
Freeze me 'til I'm cold
Beat me 'til I'm feeble
Grab me 'til I'm old

Fry me 'til I'm tired
Push me 'til I fall
Treat me like a criminal
Just a shadow on the wall
Lovely composition!

This one is really great! The shadow looks like mother & child!
I would try to reduce the blacks in the lower part if it doesn't compromise the rest of the picture.

@anelim I didn't much like the black either Milena, but any lighter and you can see the texture in the black material, which I found distracting. I started off by shooting this on white, but the reflection of the light from the white material, washed out the shadow on the wall - not at all what I wanted!

Interesting shadows from several light sources it seems. Very nice Richard.

@frankhymus Thanks Frank - it's one light source - a bare studio strobe dialled right down - but only inches away from the sculpture. The dark shadow is from the direct light from the flash tube and the lighter shadow is from the reflector behind the flash tube.
