Reflections in a forest puddle...

I spent some time this afternoon searching in the forest hoping to find my missing phojo: no luck... but I thought I glimpsed it through the trees.

Viewing on black is good...
Love your processing, great shot

Luv it--the woods look frosty and there's definitely a chill in the air.

I love your new avatar, you look so happy! This is a beautiful forest. I like the reflection for your reflection period. I'd like to start hiking in the forest and finding some interesting outdoor photography.

Super reflections. I wish my lack of phojo was as good as yours, but I guess it is all subjective in the end, but I still prefer yours.

Love the touches of green.

The reflections are more pronounced than the actual trees are. Could be that gray sky that zaps the color out of them. Or perhaps you did a little color zapping to highlight the water??

Natural selective colour? Very select!
Good spot, great shot.

Cool - the low angle makes the puddle look as big as a lake!

@lyndemc Thanks Denise - I walk here often and every time I am struck by the reflections in the puddles and I take several shots of them but the resulting images never have the impact that the scene did. This time I took the shot virtually at ground (water!) level using a very wide angle lens and I exposed for the darkest tone in the water. The sky area, including the trees, is actually overexposed and I didn't correct that, leaving the trees with a lacy look. Finally, I desaturated the orange and yellow channels by half leaving green as the predominant colour.

Good use of the low pov to create excellent reflections.

@vignouse Thanks for that info, Richard. Always interesting to learn how the final image was arrived at.
