This lake is on the outskirts of the town of Mauron which is about 10 kms north west of us but in the Département of Morbihan (56) - we're in Ille et Vilaine (35). The sun was just beginning to go down and the low angle accentuated the shape of the cloud formation. I've tagged this ntmc as I was using an 8mm rectilinear fisheye lens that I've only used a few times before, and not recently. Quadtoned in PS CC to enhance the textures.
Woah !!! What a lovely shot !! Great pov, the clouds and water similar patterns the sun through those cloud and on to the water etc....... lovely in b&w. It's a place i could sit and relax and if there is fish in that lake a sweet haven. Fav !!
wonderful capture and beautiful processing to bring out he tones and detail Richard! I have an 8mm fisheye, but really curious about an

@tosee Thanks Tom - it simply means that it produces a square image rather than a round one albeit with some distortion at the edges of the frame. For more distant subjects, like this one, the casual viewer probably wouldn't realise that the image was captured with a fisheye lens. This lens is designed for APS-C sensors where it performs as a 12mm wide-angle with a 180 deg angle of view! It can be used wth FF sensors and in this usage it produces the 'classic' round fisheye image.
This sky is stunning. I don't know quad toned but it is amazingly effective if this is the kind of image it produces. The textures are great and I love the light and the way it defines the plants in the foreground.
Hi Richard! This is beautiful. What is nmtc? I am probably not describing this with any technical accuracy, this looks like HDR for black and white. Just gorgeous!
@kt8ird Hi Kate - ntmc is a challenge that will be running each month this year - it stands for New Technique of the Month Club. This month the challenge is to use a new camera, lens, etc... or one that you have not used for a long time. I was using my 8mm fisheye lens here.
Fav for me
