Sunset over Paimpont Lake by vignouse

Sunset over Paimpont Lake

If you're a fan of sunsets (and/or sunrises) you'll find plenty to please you on 365, in all the glorious colours that Mother Nature (or Photoshop!) can conjure up. Here's a B&W one for a change...

Personally, I prefer viewing this on black.
This looks great on black. Beautiful shot.

Super shot, framing, composition, reflection, tones

I have this thing about pictures taken through the frame of branches. Makes them seem very real. No sun here today.

Love the framing on this. You make a b&w sunset pop! Very nice.

I love the starburst effect in the reflect, Was it done in camera or post? I don't see sunsets in black and white too often. I will have to try it. It is tsid that imitation is the highest form of flattery.

Amazing shot, great processing as always

I love the perfect star flare in the water. It's hidden (nicely) above.

@barbiws Thank you for your kind comments Barbara: the starburst was done in camera - f/13 or smaller with a point light source (here f/16) will get you a starburst effect.

Great reflected sunburst, and the trees are wonderful, the dark black against the lighter tones. Great detail and all the tones

You've taken what might originally have been just an ordinary place and turned it into a breathtaking scene. Who knew a sunset could be just as amazing in B&W. Certainly not me.

Beautiful

Richard , thanks for the reply. I have used f16 for a starburst but never in a reflection. Less than a week in 365 and I am learning lots already.
